FAQ

Does Acupuncture Hurt?

Acupuncture needles are hair-thin and they are inserted gently. Most people who have had acupuncture would describe it as virtually painless or far less painful than plucking out a hair. We use very fine surgical steel disposable needles that do not draw blood and are solid, not hollow. You might experience a dull sensation or tingling near the insertion points during the treatment. These sensations usually subside once the needles are removed.

Is Acupuncture Safe?

Yes, acupuncture is extremely safe and natural. We use pre-sterilized, disposable, single-use needles to ensure your complete safety.

How many treatments will I need?

The length and frequency of treatments vary from person to person and depends on the complexity of your illness, whether it’s a chronic or recent condition, and your general health. Chronic problems usually require longer treatment periods. After completing a course of treatment, maintenance sessions can prolong the results.

Should I eat beforehand?

While it isn’t recommended that you eat a huge meal before a treatment, it is suggested that you have something light, so that you’re not getting treated on an empty stomach.

What are the benefits of Herbal Medicine?

Herbal formulas are an essential part of traditional Chinese medicine, and allow for the continuation of treatment outside of the acupuncture office. The herbs prescribed follow the FDA’s and World Health Organization’s current Good Manufacturing Practices, assuring purity, potency, and safety.
